PERFORMING and COMPOSING

2016-2017 - Coastword Festival Writer in Residence

2016 - North by West solo tour

2016 - took part in 'The Food of Love' album project alongside Alasdair Roberts, Dead Rat Orchestra, Thomas Trutax, Alva and many others

2016 - invited to Stavanger, Norway to perform with Frøysang choir

2015 - performed with storyteller Ian Stephen and Gaelic singer Katie Graham in response to visual artist Pat Law's projection installation as part of eilean|island with An Lanntair Arts Centre

2015 - extensive touring of debut album 'Shift'

2014 - Member of 'Away With The Birds' vocal ensemble performing a composition by Hanna Tullikki, as part of the Commonwealth Games 2014 Culture  Programme

2014 - various collaborations with poet and founder of the Scottish Poetry Library, Tessa Randford.

2013 ongoing - 'Voyage' – commission for the opening night of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival supported by The Hope Scott Trust and Heriot Toun Studio: a multimedia collaboration with storyteller and poet Ian Stephen, sound artist and composer Giles Perring and visual artist Christine Morrison.

2013 ongoing – working with Boys of the Lough founder member and tradition bearer Cathal McConnell, as a pupil and performer.

2013 ongoing - 'Working The Tweed' – with field recorder and sound artist James Wyness. 

2013 - worked with Edinburgh-based Polish female choir Davno on music for 2013's Winter Solstice Event at Whitmuir Farm. 

2013 - 'The Fixed and the Volatile' exhibition performance – with Icelandic singer and artist Arna Gudy Valsdottir, visual artist Pat Law and filmmaker Richard Ashrowan involving an improvised performance to accompany projection installations in Hjalteyri disused herring factory, northern Iceland.

2013 - 'The Archive Project' – with Edinburgh University and Edinburgh Youth Gaitherin' involving research into the School of Scottish Studies sound archives before using inspiration found there to compose new material for an album released that year.

2009-2011 - 'Ars Navigare' - cross-cultural arts project with Finnish visual artists in two phases, one in south of Finland and the other the Isle of Lewis, Scotland with exhibitions in Turku's maritime museum and Stornoway's An Lanntair. 

 

OTHER

2010-2012 - transcribed and edited manuscripts from Johnson's 'Scots Musicial Museum' for 'Selected Poems and Songs of Robert Burns' by Robert P. Irvine, published by Oxford University Press.
